Actions

Those are semi-keywords that refer to common actions throughout the game.

  • Burn: Place this card face up in its controller's burn zone.
  • Destroy: Place this card in its controller's discard zone.
  • Dissolve: Place this card in its controller's abyss zone.
  • Retire: Place this card in its controller's hand.
  • Heal X: Remove X damage from this card.
  • Negate: Prevent from happening.
  • Chant [X]: Cast a chant on this card you control if you pay its .
  • Response [X]: Cast a response on this card you control if you pay its . (Responses that require you to summon a unit or build a construct they are printed on can be cast even if you don't control them.)

Triggers

Those refer to events which occurance may cause certain cards' effects to execute.

  • Name of a phase: When a phase begins.
  • On attack: When this card declares an attack.
  • On entry: When this card enters the arena face up.
  • On exit: When this card leaves the arena.
  • On hit: When this card deals combat damage.
  • On move: When this card moves to an adjacent zone on the arena.

Temporary statuses

Those refer to effects that can be aquired by cards on the arena and are removed when certain conditions take place. Covered and exhausted are semi-keywords due to being statuses applied as a result of common actions. All temporary statuses are removed when the card leaves the arena. A card can have many temporary statuses, but it can only have each status once at a time. When a card with shield gains another shield, the one with higher value overrides the other.

  • Covered: Can't be targeted. A card is covered as long as a player controls another card in a zone above it in the same column.
  • Exhausted: Unable to move or attack. Remove this effect during its controller's start phase.
  • Shield X: Whenever it would be dealt damage, negate X of that damage and remove this effect.
  • Stealth: Can't cover or be targeted. Remove this effect when declaring an attack.

Negative statuses

Those refer to effects that can be applied to a card that's on the arena, but don't provide conditions for their termination. They are removed once the card leaves the arena. A card can have many negative statuses, but it can only have each status once at a time.

  • Cursed: Is destroyed during its controller's start phase.
  • Poisoned: Takes 1 damage during its controller's start and end phases.
  • Weakened: Each time it takes damage, it takes 1 more damage.

Attributes

Those refer to effects that are either printed on the card or can be acquired due to effects of other cards.

  • Counter: Deals damage first when defending.
  • Haste: Doesn't get exhausted when entering the arena.
  • Overheal: When overkilling, heals for the remaining damage.
  • Pierce: When overkilling, deals the remaining damage to the enemy that was covered by the target.
  • Sight: Can target stealthed and covered enemies.
  • Spellshield: Can't be targeted by enemy chants and responses.
  • Swift: Deals damage first when attacking.
  • Taunt: Has to be targeted by enemy attack whenever possible.

Deckbuilding attributes

Those are attributes that only affect deckbuilding and have no bearing on the actual game.

  • Unique: You can only have 1 copy of this card in your deck.
  • Unlimited: You can have as many copies of this card in your deck as you like.

Faction-specific attributes

Those refer to specific factions' mechanics.

Architects
  • Deploy: Can be build immediately when placed in a unit zone.
  • Upgrade: You can destroy a (contruct this one upgrades from) you control to reduce this construct's by (that construct's ) and build it immediately.
Voyagers
  • Energize X: Gains a charge each time you cast a chant. Max X charges.
Mercenaries
  • Hire: You may destroy 1 card from your hand instead of paying 2 of this card's .
